Alpine Fireside General Policies

General Policies

  1. Care Plan meetings will be held with each resident and/or representative every quarter in accordance with the OBRA regulation.
  2. Resident Council meets the second Thursday of every month at 10:00 a.m. in the activity room. All residents are encouraged to attend and family members are invited.
  3. In accordance with regulation, Alpine Fireside will electronically transmit data on each of our residents to the Illinois Department of Public Health in Springfield.
  4. Medications of any kind (prescriptions or over-the-counter) are not to be kept at bedside or in the resident's room. If it is the wish of the resident to self-medicate and the resident is capable of doing so, the care plan team and the resident's personal physician may provide appropriate authorization in accordance with Residents' Rights.
  5. A physician's order must be obtained if a resident wishes to have alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages must be stored in the medication room and dispensed by a nurse. Alcohol is not permitted to be stored in the resident's room.
  6. If a resident has advance directives in place, the facility must have a copy of the document for the medical record. Without the needed documents, the resident will be treated as a full code.
  7. Routine customer service interviews with the resident and representative are conducted to maintain high standards of quality care.
  8. All clothing must be clearly marked with the name of the resident. This is the responsibility of the resident or their representative.
  9. Valuables, such as jewelry, will be the sole responsibility of the resident. Otherwise, such personal property must be stored for safekeeping by the management at their discretion.
  10. Each resident will be permitted to have their own radio and/or television in their room if it does not disturb other residents.
  11. Each resident is allowed to have a private telephone in their room.
  12. Residents are able to bring furniture and pictures from home as space allows.
  13. Visiting hours are 9:00 a.m-10:00 p.m. every day.
